So, if you don't have a third-party Mac malware app such as MalwareBytes then you might want to restrict how often you use it, or otherwise skip it completely. This is essentially the open-source ClamAV scanning engine, which is a super-slow resource hog when run on demand. But before the scan can be initiated you'll first be prompted to install a MacClean security database and engine. One interesting feature included in the cleaning module is the function to scan your whole Mac, Application and Download folders, or a selected folder for malware. The results of the scan are then displayed in an easy-to-understand manner, along with the option to review the files the cleaning software has flagged as junk. MacClean, however, needs much more attention since it will perform scans in only the specifically chosen areas, whether that’s system or internet junk files, malicious cookies or looking for security issues on demand. Competitors such as CleanMyMac offer convenient automation processes, meaning that you only need to push one button to get information on how much disk space you are about to free up. MacClean makes it easy to remove useless junk files, but it doesn't help save time at all. It also features a script called security issue, which will analyze your computer for potential virus threats based on a third-party virus database and search engine that you'll need to download first. It also looks for app documents and private app histories, and gives users the option to remove these cache files to protect their privacy. But what makes this app particularly interesting is its ability to scan web browsers (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox or Opera) for malicious cookies. Just like its competitors, MacClean seeks to clean your Mac of system cache junk (user cache, system cache, developer junk files and app leftovers) and internet junk data such as browsing histories, download histories, cached files and cookies. The app incorporates two main modules, cleanup and utilities, each of which has a list of actions you can take to optimize your Mac. When you launch MacClean you're greeted by a simple, basic and easy-to-understand user interface with a list of functions on the left side of the window. However, to perform a cleaning operation you will need to buy a lifetime license for as low as $7.99. In its free form this Mac optimization software will scan your computer on demand and display how much data can be safely removed from the startup disk. MacClean is a freemium app, meaning it can be downloaded and used for free, although limitations do apply. Alongside apps targeting iPhone, iPad and iPod users, such as AnyTrans (for managing file transfers), PhoneRescue and PhoneClean, MacClean is designed solely to keep your Mac clean and safe from malware. This instrument has all the features that define the best ukuleles. If we have to choose one Luna, it would be Uke Pearl Concert Body Ukulele. Let’s explore some of the top-rated Luna ukuleles available on the market today, so you can see what’s best for you. The brand has a wide range of ukuleles to suit the needs of different users. If you are looking for something that’s easy on your pocket and resonates with your personality, you would want to look at what Luna has to offer. Moreover, Luna offers so much for the price. These ukuleles are easy on your hand, and their neck is smooth to grasp. We love Luna ukuleles largely because of their fantastic design and outlook, incredible usability, and variety of valuable features. See you next time.Since its inception in 2005, Luna has consistently produced high-quality, feature-rich ukuleles. Just dont look or listen too hard and all will be cool. Cool in concept, but like many, these are just too cheap for their own good.So that’s my review of Aurora Ukuleles. Overall advice to the beginner – Going a little above this in price to the regular Luna Honu or Tattoo is a humongous jump in quality and still under $100.I could have gotten out the macro lens and shown all the flaws, but it’s a nicer view from here. But we’ll get them to be playable and sell them in our store for $60. Most likely these will never make it to we can do will make them unflawed. Cosmetically it looks like someone gave a 9 year old crack and told them to go as fast as possible. Crazy high nut slots and sloppy fretwork are the main issue. Apparently Aurora was not just made for kids, but also made by kids! The sad thing is that this is what our young ones will start with. Aside from needing extensive setup work, every single one I looked at had bubbles in the finish and all kinds of funky stuff going on. As I went through them I realized that not even 1 in the 48 would get past Joel without being marked as a 2nd. But these four ukes that Luna showed at the 2013 NAMM were eye catchers and I knew the kids would love them. So when a brand like Luna comes out with a sub brand like Aurora, I usually hold off. Corners have already been cut, affordable has already been the goal. It’s kind of scary when an import “budget” brand comes out with a cheaper line. They claim they’re going to make it better. This is because the way the Webaudio API works is really poor, and you can thank Mozilla AND Google for that one. Sound, like Gamepads, is a little strange. It starts out muted by default. As this expands out into other setups, I’m sure other solutions will present themselves. Another solution is to go into your OS, make a guest account, and make that account not have hotkeys – that worked fine in OSX and in Windows for us. One is to Press TAB after the game starts, and you can go into a menu and change the keys… problem is, you lose these settings currently after you refresh the browser. There are two solutions, both are annoying. This comes into conflict with MacOS especially, as hot keys and accessibility come from combinations. So again… start game, wait for booting, twirl buttons until it notices, then it will generally work for all the games you click on after that.Īnother issue, if you live with the keyboard controller, is that MAME wants to use CTRL, ALT/OPTION, and a few other wacky keys. Also, only Chrome and Firefox currently support the Gamepad API meaningfully. The Gamepad API we use is somewhat janky, and it takes a while for the browser to “get it”. after the MAME logo goes, and you see the game booting, and then you hit keys on your joypad until it says “joypad detected”, and then you need to refresh the browser. I’m sorry about that – we’re going to make it clearer soon. Basically, you need to start a game, i.e. Work continues to make it run as best as it can. Let’s call it even on the “why is it so intense” issue. Well, you’re really running an emulation system that itself is running an old system, and that emulation system is in a browser. People occasionally complain about the irony of how you need the latest and greatest to run such old stuff. We continue to improve this experience and we’re constantly doing fixups to the code to work with other browsers. Believe it or not, I’ve had great response from a 64-bit Windows version of Firefox called Waterfox. Safari, mostly recent Safari, works good but sound does not currently work on it. This can mean the difference between good and clunky emulation. Chrome also works well, although due to disagreements between Mozilla and Google that bore me, Chrome runs about 20% slower on average. If you needed an excuse to upgrade, this is it. Hopefully this can help clear things up for you.įirst, the Internet Arcade works best in Firefox, and a very recent flavor of Firefox at that. This quick post from a plane is for the last group, who are having issues. A few are annoyed and wondering why it “doesn’t work”. Soon after my initial announcement on this weblog, a few tweets of the posting, followed by some press attention, means tens of thousands of people have now visited the Internet Arcade. You MUST have Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (圆4) installed! Download it here. So, You Found the Internet Arcade - November 3, 2014 Waterfox shares your Firefox settings, so should you come to uninstall it, don’t select the option to delete all personal information if you’re still using Firefox. Aside from its name on the menu at the top of the main window, there’s nothing to differentiate it from Firefox. Waterfox is based on the current stable Firefox build, which means it functions in exactly the same way. On the other hand, only 64-Bit plugins work with Waterfox and as of now those are: Adobe Flash, Oracle Java and Microsoft Silverlight. Your add-ons/extensions work on any version of Firefox, on any platform! That means they all work with Waterfox. Waterfox was compiled with Intel’s C++ Compiler with the following optimisations: Intel’s Math Library, SSE3, AVX for supported Intel processors, jemalloc, Profile-Guided Optimisation and the /O3 switch. Icons and names aside, Waterfox is identical to Firefox, and is updated each time you do the main version, with the difference that your executable has been compiled for 圆4 and Windows systems. Having been compiled specifically for this type of system, its performance is better than the standard version of Firefox. To make Waterfox stand out a bit more, it’s compiled with optimizations so that it will run more efficiently and faster than just compiling Firefox as a 64-Bit program. This code is taken and compiled to run specifically for 64-Bit Windows computers. Waterfox is a high performance browser based on the Mozilla Firefox source code. With no complications of online functionality, social networking or anything else to get in your way, Sim City 4 is about starting a new, laying the foundations of your City and building your way to success over the generations. I shouldn’t need to explain the gameplay to the bulk of you, this is one of the purest and true to form city building titles ever made. Personally I just prefer to keep it off and enjoy the sounds of the city. Fortunately there are options to customise the playlist, or just turn the music off all together. Music is a little more old school, and while many of you may enjoy the classic chimes of the Sim City I find that are capable of inducing a gaming coma after an hour or so. Fast forward today however and even a low spec system will rip through the rendering options on Sim City 4 with ease, it may have 10 years on its clock but Sim City 4 is far from being an ugly looking game thanks to its hidden support for custom resolutions. When Sim City 4 launched in 2003 it was a breath of fresh air, its relatively advanced graphics were praised given that it used a 3D rendering engine for the bulk of its graphics, a far cry from the more isometric sprite based system used in the earlier titles, not that there is anything wrong with isometric sprints of course. Ten years ago the games graphics and calculations were quite the taxing effort for CPU / GPU combinations of the time, it could also be that the game isn’t the best optimised either and overall the game just wasn’t easy to get running smoothly on more decent system of the time. The issues with the game have been so wide spread, so highly publicised, and a combination of being blown out of proportion thanks to social media and not been taken seriously enough by some of the PR folks at EA have caused the issue to turn viral, making for one of the worst gaming product launches of the entire generation. We’ll I personally haven’t lifted my wallet to purchase the new Sim City and for good reason too, why would I buy a product that may not work, when in my mind it could never be better than its predecessor. There have been so many debates recently over the issues with the new Sim City title.
